North Korea called it “the world’s most powerful weapon.”



Prior to the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, North Korea held a parade in the presence of its leader Kim Jong-un, showcasing a ballistic missile launched by a new submarine known as the world’s “most powerful weapon.”

The BBC quoted state media as reporting that the four missiles were found in Pyongyang’s Kim Il Sung Square on Thursday, in which Kim was shot dead by U.S. Pyongyang was called the “biggest enemy.”

Kim called the U.S. the North’s “main enemy” and said the fate of bilateral relations would depend on whether it abandoned Washington, which recognizes Pyongyang as hostile.

During its last military parade in October, the North unveiled a series of new strategic weapons, said to be its largest yet intercontinental ballistic missile.

Reuters reports that analysts believe Pyongyang’s goal is to build a submarine capable of operating these missiles.

Michael Deutsman, a researcher at the California-based James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), said on Twitter that the missiles in the parade appeared to be upgraded to its Pugxx-version.
