CNN reports that the North Carolina couple, who have been married for more than 50 years, died within minutes of the novel’s coronavirus.
The family of Johnny Lee Peoples and Kathy “Darlene” Peoples say they hope the story reminds people that the virus is real.
“Mommy and Daddy lived hand in hand until 50 “Over the years they’ve died together, now they’re going to heaven,” his son, Shane People, told CNN. “The message is that Kovid is real. It’s not a hoax or a joke. Our parents took the right precautions but sadly the virus is still contagious.”
According to CNN, the couple began experiencing COVID-19 symptoms in early August. Aug Gust. Both Darlene and Johnny Peoples later tested positive for COVID-19 and were hospitalized on August 11.

The family says it was told on Sept. 1 that the couple had no chance of escaping. The very next day, Darlene and Johnny People were taken off their ventilators in the same room and died within minutes.
The post reads: “My parents were not only a blessing to me, my brother, my sister, our spouses and children. They were a blessing to everyone they met,” the post reads. “I wish everyone would see it through my eyes. You will both see a very loving and caring couple. Without them, this world would have become a little darker.”
“We need to hit the hurdle and get through this fall and winter because it won’t be easy,” Fawcett said earlier this month.
“We’ve done this before,” he said. “Never underestimate the potential for epidemics. And don’t pay attention to the rose of things. ”
