Nintendo is permanently lowering the price of the Switch Joy-Con

Update: Nintendo has now confirmed that the Joy-Con price reduction will also come to North America. As in Japan, this discount only applies to one Joy-Con purchase.

One of the following Joy-Con products will be priced from. 49.99 to. 39.99 starting November 9. While this is a welcome change, it is worth considering that. 39.99 a is exactly half the price of a full set, so buying two individually is sadly still not cheaper than buying a pair.

At least one upgrade is a little cheaper now!

Original article (Monday, October 12, 2020 13:30 BST): Nintendo has announced that it will permanently reduce the price of its Switch Joy-Con controllers in Japan starting next month.

From November 6, the price of a single Joy-Con controller will be revised from 4,480 yen + tax to 3,740 yen + tax, a reduction of about 116%. The price reduction will only apply to one Joy-Con product, meaning switch owners will still pay the same, regular price for a full pack of two (thanks, Japanese Nintendo)

Users in Japan can purchase Gray, Neon Red, Neon Blue, Neon Yellow, Neon Green, Red and Neon Pink Joy-Con from the country’s Facial Store.

Naturally, then, we can’t help but wonder whether a similarly priced re-icing formation will come here in the West. Are we going to see a permanent drop in prices across Europe and the US, or will this just be a Japanese deal? [Update: North America now confirmed – see above].

We are sure that the reduction in prices will be quite well received, especially all the issues of Joy-Con Drift that we are looking at, but feel free to say so in the comments below. Do you think we will see a price reduction soon?
