NFL Week 7 Grade: Packers get ‘A’ for steamrolling texts, Cowboys get ‘F’ in blowout lot

If there was any concern about the Packers ’ability to avoid blows, we could probably go ahead and throw that concern out the window. A week after being harassed by Tampa Bay, the Packers responded by pulling out their best performance of the season in a 35-20 win over the Houston Texans. Aaron Rogers drew another offensive masterpiece with 283 passing yards and four touchdowns.

The Packers didn’t have to run Aaron Jones behind in the game, but as it turned out, they didn’t really need him, as they had Rogers and Devent Adams to handle the offense. It’s almost impossible to stop healthy Adams, and he proved it on Sunday. The Packers receiver caught 13 passes for a career-high 196 yards, which also serves as the eighth highest single-game total in franchise history.

At the start of the game it became clear that the Texans were going to have some problems covering Adams. For example, in this third -9-9 in the first quarter, Adams was well covered, but then Rogers made a nice catch, which was followed by more catches:

Rogers was credited with that perfection by the Packers’ offense on Sunday.

“It simply came to our notice then The third down that we got going, “Rogers told NBC15 after the game.” By some pretty late hands [Adams] … Obviously we’re tough when he’s in the game. ”

The 28-yard throw on Adams was actually one of two catches over 25 yards on 25 drives. The next two plays will capture the Adams-36-yard pass that set the Packers on the Houston-yard line. The Packers eventually made a touchdown on the drive to take a 14-0 lead, and after that, the blows continued.

Rogers and Adams are connected at the main point of the game. Not only could they convert the top-3 and -9 above, but later in the game, Pedro converted to third and 4, after Rodgers hit Adams with a 45-yard touchdown pass from Rogers.

TD was the seven times where the pair connected on the third down. To make that state even crazier, just consider this: the Packers convert 7 out of 12 third downs in the game and Adams achieves all seven conversions (third-and-goal, third-and-1, third-and-4). , Third-and-5, third-and-7, third-and-9, third-and -10).

In almost every third place, it was pretty clear where Rogers was going with the ball, but the Texans still couldn’t stop him. Although the Packers were swayed by the offense last week, it doesn’t look like the damage will have a long-term impact. The Packers still look like one of the NFC’s best offenders, if not the best, and in the Jones they looked like they did despite losing a key player.
