NFL Informant Jay Glazer Analyzes Cam Newton’s Health Situation | New England Patriots

The uncertainty that currently surrounds Cam Newton goes beyond what his role will be with the New England Patriots.

It remains to be seen if Newton really is 100 percent healthy. The veteran quarterback was limited to two games last season due to a foot injury, and struggled with a shoulder ailment over the course of the 2018 season. The pair of injuries clearly impacted Newton’s free agency, which lasted approximately three months.

Newton’s condition will not be known for sure until the caller goes on the field, but NFL Jay Glazer has the impression that the 2015 league MVP is ready to go.

“I think Cam Newton is healthy now, it’s just that the teams couldn’t see him up close, which many wanted because of the severity of the foot and shoulder injuries and how long the shoulder injury lasted.” Glazer wrote in his last mail bag for The Athletic. “They wanted to play and DJ. But I think he’s healthy now. ”

Newton has certainly looked healthy in the myriad of training videos he has posted over the course of the offseason, which have featured footage of the Pro Bowl team three times in the gym, as well as field work with Patriots receivers.
