“Disappointed not to end up with the best prizes this year, but life is made that way,” Mbappe added Twitter.

“We fought with all our might. Congratulations to Bayern. And a big thank you for your support.”

The Brazilian defender Marquinhos was disappointed to see that PSG came up short in the decision, but was still proud of how far his side managed to go in the competition.

“A final is not to be played, it is to be won. On the other hand, we are all proud of our team. We must be proud to reach the final. We must continue in this way,” he said. RMC Sports.

“Now is the time to go back to our habits in Paris, to think about next season.”

PSG now have less than a week to recover from the defeat and prepare themselves for the 2020-21 campaign with Tuchel’s side set on Lens in action in Ligue 1 on 29 August. Lens lost their Ligue 1 opener against Nice 2-1 on Sunday.
