The next entry in the BioShock series will likely have a brand new setting and a narrative-driven experience in the vein of previous entries in the franchise.
New vacancies posted on the Cloud Chamber’s official website, as detected by Mauro NL, revealed that the next entry in the series is powered by the Unreal Engine 4, and it’s unplanned for next-gen consoles, which is not to say surprisingly, seeing the game is still several years away.
Since the new game is still far from release, details are very limited at the moment, but it looks like the game will have a brand new setting, as one of the ads calls it breathing “life in a new and fantastic world”. The game will also be a narrative and system-driven experience, with combat that will be “accessible, satisfying and will allow a high degree of player expression and experimentation within a highly reactive world”.
New details about the next Bioshock game developed by the new studio Cloud Chamber Studios. Several vacancies point to experience in Unreal Engine 4, one task list says “we use UE4”. It’s also meant for ‘next-gen’, which is no surprise that ‘several years away’.

With this game so far from release, it’s the only way fans of the series will have to time themselves by playing the currently available BioShock games. The latest entry in the series, Infinite, was released in 2013 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Infinite has also been renamed for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in addition to the first two entries in the series with by BioShock: The Collection. The collection includes all of the players’ content as well as a documentary featuring Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson
