Waikato police issued a warning to drivers along with an image capturing the aftermath of a November 29 two-vehicle crash in Te Kūiti, where a driver failed to yield and collided with an ambulance.
St John’s vehicle was transporting a patient at the time.
“Here’s a photo of an accident that happened recently,” Waikato police said in the social media post Wednesday.
“An ambulance taking a patient to the hospital [sic] he was run over by a car that did not yield ”.

The accident served as a reminder for drivers to adhere to the rules of the road and “always be alert.”
“Please remember to look both ways before going to a yield sign, because you never know what is coming around the corner.”
The collision took place on Ngārongo St and was reported to the police around 3.25pm
Police have not yet provided further details on the possible injuries sustained as a result of the accident.
