A woman who slipped on a grape in the aisle of a Woolworths grocery store is suing the supermarket giant for A $ 1.3 million ($ 1.4 million).

Queensland nurse Charlotte Louise Bobbett, now 43, allegedly slipped on the grape at Woolworths Pacific Pines in the northern Gold Coast suburbs at 3 p.m. on December 22, 2015.

Bobbett filed a lawsuit against Woolworths Group Ltd for alleged negligence or breach of contract in Brisbane High Court on September 24, as reported by the Courier Mail.

His claim claims that he injured his lower back, right shoulder, and right hip from the fall and then had to undergo a hip replacement.

Bobbett claims A $ 100,000 for past economic losses, A $ 750,000 for future economic losses, and A $ 40,000 for future surgical expenses, including a review of his total hip replacement.

In total, he wants to be awarded AU $ 1,300,278 in court.

The claim claims that since the accident, Bobbett has been diagnosed with an adjustment and anxiety disorder.

It is also alleged that she was unable to complete her nursing degree due to her injuries, or find work in nursing or other industries, leading to significant financial consequences.

Bobbett claims that Woolworths should have known that its stores would be busier than usual in the run-up to Christmas and should have been cleaning the store more regularly as a result.

She has claimed that the supermarket did not use non-slip mats on the floor of the fruit and vegetable section.
