A woman was charged with murder after the body of her ex-partner was found in a unit in western Sydney.

Emergency services were called to a home on St Marys in Sydney around 12.30pm Sunday after concerns were raised for the well-being of a resident.

The police found the body of 35-year-old Geo Sione, who allegedly suffered serious head injuries.

Forensic officers investigated the crime scene before 34-year-old Naea Moli was arrested and charged at the St Marys Police Station.

Police said the defendant was known to the man and claimed it was a domestic incident.

“They had been together for 10 years, they emigrated from New Zealand and are known to the police,” said Detective Inspector Jason Pietruszka.

“This is a horrible incident, it shows what can happen at its worst with regards to domestic violence; we encourage all victims of domestic violence to contact the police.”

9 News reports that Moli allegedly used an ax to beat her 10-year-old ex-partner while he was in bed.
