The murder charged Alana Bamber, left, at her husband Tony Waldron’s funeral on Twizel on September 27, 2019.
More than a year after a Canterbury farm worker was found dead in his bed, his wife has been charged with his murder.
Alana Jane Bamber, 33, of Timaru, appeared in Timaru District Court Monday afternoon charged with the murder of her 29-year-old husband, Tony Grant Waldron.
Bamber is the second person charged in connection with the death of her husband.
Joshua Dylan Morris-Bamber of Christchurch was charged with Waldron’s murder in October 2019.
Waldron’s body was found by a co-worker, who began looking for him when he failed to show up for work, in his bed on a property on Gardiners Rd, near Rakaia on September 18, 2019.
Judge Maze denied Bamber’s request for bail and granted him permission to reapply in Superior Court.
Bamber was in custody until October 30, when he will appear in Christchurch Superior Court.
Morris-Bamber’s trial is scheduled to begin in High Court in Christchurch on November 2.
