Official figures show that the police’s most active and profitable mobile speed camera van is parked on State Highway 1 through Wellsford.
A mobile speed camera parked between Davies Road and School Road, a 50 km / h zone, has issued 18,294 tickets since January 2018, worth $ 1.135 million.
The chamber location has issued more than twice as many fines as the next most prolific location during that three-year period.
The summer vacation period is the most common time for motorists to be ticketed through Wellsford.
In December of last year, 3,846 fines worth $ 173,660 were issued.
