A gorilla was filmed in a Wellington bar trampling on a man’s head as he lay on the ground bleeding.

The images, circulating on social media, also show a tall patio-style heater falling on the man while he is lying on the ground, hitting him and bystanders.

However, the video does not clearly show if the heater was pressed.

Other security personnel can be seen restraining the doorman in the video, while passersby try to help the man on the ground.

A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesperson said a man was taken to Wellington Hospital in moderate condition following the incident around 1 am outside the Boston on Blair bar on Blair St, downtown.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that the incident was being investigated.

Boston on Blair bar manager Jordan Mills said police had ordered him not to comment on the incident until the investigation was completed.

Onlooker Kate Te Tau was hit by the fall of the heater, which split her lip and required four stitches.

Te Tau posted videos of the incident online, which were taken by a friend, and said she was “shocked and disgusted” by what she witnessed.

“I don’t know the guy at all, I’m not sure what happened in the beginning, but the gorillas were definitely abusing their role. This is not how you train a goalkeeper to deal with the situation. “

Te Tau said she was disappointed by the response from the staff that night, who say they did not offer her medical attention. He finally took a taxi to the hospital for treatment.

She understood that the man on the ground may have assaulted the doorman earlier.
