Elsewhere on Friday, MetService is forecasting occasional showers for Southland, while scattered showers are expected in most of Canterbury starting in the afternoon. For Buller and Westland, the afternoon rains are expected to turn into rain.

A sunny Friday is forecast for Auckland, with a high temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. Saturday is expected to be rainy, and the rains could be heavy in the afternoon, and by Sunday afternoon there is a chance that some of the rains will be stormy.
