NBC, CBS, and ABC News cut US President Donald Trump’s first speech after Election Night, during which he declared: “If legal votes count, I win easily.”
CNN and Fox News carried the full comments.
Early in his speech from the White House, Trump claimed the election was “corrupt” and hinted that Democrats, the media and “big technology” were trying to alter the outcome.
“If they count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us,” Trump said.
“If you count the votes that arrived late, we are analyzing them very carefully. Many of them have arrived late.”
Trump said that “now there are only a few states left to decide in the presidential race” and that “the voting apparatus is run in all cases by Democrats.”
“We were actually earning a lot at all the key locations, and then our numbers miraculously started to shrink, secretly,” he said.
With his hopes of holding onto the presidency slipping away as thousands of votes continue to be counted in key states on the battlefield, Trump vowed to fight the outcome in court.
“We believe that there is going to be a lot of litigation, since we have so much evidence, so much proof and perhaps it will end in the highest court in the country,” he said.
“We’ll see. But we think there will be a lot of litigation because we can’t have an election like this stolen from us and I’m telling you, I’ve been talking about this for many months with all of you.
“I have said very forcefully that the mail-in ballots will be a disaster. We are hearing stories of absolute horror and we cannot allow that to happen in the United States of America.”
Trump said it was “not about who wins, Republican, Democrat, Joe, myself.”
“We cannot allow that to happen to our country.
“We can’t be disgraced for something like this to happen. So hopefully it will be cleared up, hopefully soon, but it will probably go through a process, a legal process, and as you know, I have claimed certain states and he is claiming states and we Both states can claim, but ultimately I have a feeling the judges will have to rule, but there have been a lot of shenanigans and we cannot bear that in our country. “
The anchors of the major news networks in the United States immediately checked the president.
“What a sad night for the United States of America to hear its president say that,” CNN host Jake Tapper said after the press conference.
“Falsely accusing people of trying to steal elections, trying to attack democracy that way with its feast of falsehoods. Lie after lie after lie.”
It came after the president spent Thursday making a series of furious tweets in capital letters, writing: “STOP THE COUNT!”, “STOP THE FRAUD!” and “ANY VOTE ARRIVING AFTER ELECTION DAY WILL NOT BE COUNTED!”
He added: “All the states that Biden recently claimed will be legally challenged by us for voter fraud and state election fraud. Lots of evidence, just check the media. WE WILL WIN! America First!”
