It’s not the count that really matters, but former Vice President Joe Biden has been upset with US President Donald Trump.

In their municipal duels, the Democratic presidential candidate reached more viewers on ABC than Trump did for NBC News.

Biden’s city council reached 14.1 million people on ABC between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., while Trump had a combined 13.5 million on NBC, CNBC and MSNBC, the Nielsen company said.

Trump was expected to reach more people simply because he was being seen on three networks.

But with a lineup of liberal opinion anchors in primetime on MSNBC, Trump was not particularly welcomed by either viewers or the network’s staff.

“Well that just happened,” said MSNBC host Rachel Maddow as soon as Trump’s sometimes combative town hall with Savannah Guthrie ended, proceeding to begin a lengthy fact-check.

The Biden Town Hall, with questions from the audience and moderator George Stephanopoulos, lasted 90 minutes.

NBC had received strong criticism for scheduling its event at the same time as Biden’s.

It was supposed to have been the night of the second debate, but the independent commission canceled it after Trump resisted holding a virtual debate.
