As Donald Trump spoke for the first time since the night of the US election, Twitter exploded and praised the major networks for their honest headlines.
During and after the president’s speech, Twitter users flooded the social media platform with their top headline options that appeared on the screen while the president was giving his speech.
Some of those praised were major US networks like CNN and Fox News.
During CNN’s live broadcast of his speech, a headline read: “Without any evidence, Trump says he’s being misled.”
“Trump complains that votes sent by mail are being counted,” read another headline.
A Fox News headline read: “Trump Alleges Fraud, Tries to ‘Fix’ Election.”
Major US networks also chose to walk away from Trump in the middle of the speech.
NBC, CBS and ABC News cut the president’s first speech after Election Night, during which he declared, “If legal votes count, I win easily.”
CNN and Fox News carried the full comments.
A stunned CNN reporter, Anderson Cooper, called the current president an “obese turtle on his back flailing in the blazing sun.”
