Donald Trump spent about $ 3 million to get vote counts in Wisconsin, only for the counts to extend President-elect Joe Biden’s lead over him.
The recount in Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest county, ended on Friday, and Biden got even more votes than he had when the votes were first counted.
Biden got 132 net votes on the tally, out of nearly 460,000 votes. While the president-elect won 257 on the tally, Trump won just 125.
Trump demanded a recount in two of Wisconsin’s counties after losing the state to Biden by more than 20,000 votes.
The Trump campaign spent $ 3 million to do these counts.
“The tally demonstrates what we already know – that elections in Milwaukee County are fair, transparent, accurate and safe,” said Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson.
The state must now certify its result on Tuesday, and the recount in Dane County will end on Sunday.
A judge also this week dismissed Trump’s team’s challenge to Pennsylvania’s results, saying their claims “have no merit.” Trump says he will be elevated to the Supreme Court.
Biden won the presidential election with 306 electoral college votes, compared to 232 for Trump.
Overall, Biden had more than six million votes more than Trump.
Biden will take the oath of office on January 20 and will become the next president of the United States.
Trump continues to refuse to give in and said yesterday that Biden will have to “prove” each of his 80 million votes if he wants to enter the White House.
