Shane Young faced Venezuelan Omar Morales in their preliminary fight on the UFC 260 undercard in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday New Zealand time).
Napier’s featherweight was struggling to gain control, but struggled to dominate his opponent, who won by unanimous decision with each judge voting 30-27 in his favor after three rounds.
Morales improves his record to 11-1, but it was Young’s second straight UFC loss and follows his first career knockout loss in Abu Dhabi last September.

The 27-year-old’s record fell to 13-6 after getting his UFC shot when some of his fellow fighters were turned away due to a Covid-19 outbreak at his base.

Neither fighter won the game in the first round while fighting and feeling each other, but it was Young’s best in the Octagon at UFC Apex.
There was more action in the second when Morales unleashed a flurry of kicks and the rate of hits increased after an irritable opening.
In the third, Young was pinned down after a quick takedown of Morales, though his defense allowed him to break free.
Still, Morales maintained his dominance and there were no complaints from Young when the decision went against him.
