Tributes flow for a “fun, free-spirited” and “vibrant” young woman found dead in Christchurch on Monday.

Rosalie Anderson-Hill’s body was discovered near Cattlestop Crag in Heathcote Valley on Oct. 26, Detective Sergeant Damon Wells said in a statement today.

The 21-year-old’s death is being treated as inexplicable as police reconstruct the chronology of her movements, she said.

Friends and family have shared their memories of her online.

“You were that fun, free-spirited friend I always loved and when we were together we just clicked,” said one person on a Facebook memorial page dedicated to Anderson-Hill.

Another described her as a “special person” loved by all who knew her.

“Your presence was always beautiful, vibrant and fun,” added another. “I hope that wherever you are now you are safe and at peace.”

“We will all miss that beautiful ray of sunshine you threw at us,” said another.

“Her beauty has touched the soul of many,” said one person. “We will never forget your radiant and contagious joy, sending love to all who helped make her such a beautiful woman.”

Police would like to speak to anyone who was near the Cattlestop Crag climbing area on Sunday, or who saw Anderson-Hill walking in the Mt Pleasant, Lyttelton or Summit Road area overnight from Sunday to Monday morning, he said Wells.

Anderson-Hill was described as having a slim build, approximately 160 centimeters tall, with blond hair with dreadlocks.

She was wearing a hooded robe, long white and blue paisley-patterned pants, and black and white shoes.

The longboard is approximately one meter long with a slight drop in the middle of the board.

Police have yet to locate the item and would like to hear from anyone who found it, he said.

Anyone with information can contact the police through 105, quoting the file number 201026/8376, or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
