The Pumas backed up their first win over the All Blacks with a 15-15 draw against the Wallabies in Newcastle on Saturday night.

The tie leaves all three Tri-Nations teams with six points, with New Zealand leading in point difference, although Argentina has one game less.

Australia dominated territory and possession in the first half, but Argentina, looking to win back-to-back matches in the Southern Hemisphere competition for the first time, returned to defend superbly to keep the hosts out of attempts, while Australia was left making mistakes like impatience and continuity. the errors broke multiple waves forward.

The Wallabies increased the pressure on both sides of the break and hooker Julian Montoya was sent off for sin early in the second half after the Pumas conceded a series of penalties near their own try line.

Reece Hodge’s start pushed Australia to a 15-6 lead, but the Pumas regained the initiative when Nicolás Sánchez leveled the scores at 15-15.

Hodge had a late opportunity to snatch the victory from the Wallabies, but missed his penalty in the 78th minute, just as he did in Bledisloe’s first Test last month.
