An American mother went viral on TikTok with a small move after her husband sent a friend a birthday message.

The video shows a family gathered around a chocolate cake with candles, confused about what is happening, until the mother begins to speak, according to Kidspot.

The woman later reveals that she had made a birthday cake for her husband’s friend, “Kelly.”

“We are going to sing happy birthday to daddy’s girlfriend Kelly because he sent her a happy birthday message on Facebook,” she said in the video.

“Mom checked her phone. It must be like a family, so we’re all going to sing for her. You’re ready.”

Then several of the children begin to sing, while their father watches in stunned silence.

The video clip, narrated by the teenager recording the video, already has more than 1.2 million reactions and 28,000 comments on TikTok.

During the song, she can be heard saying “OMG, I’m crying” and trying not to laugh.

“You know what I thought you were about to do? I thought you were about to tell me you were pregnant or something. I was about to die.”

Then the mother turns to her husband and tells him to “blow it out” by pointing to the candle on the cake.

“Do you want to lick the frosting?” she asks, as her husband replies, “You’re sick. You’re sick in the head.”

Commenters on TikTok criticized the woman as “toxic” and “crazy” for staging such an exaggerated response to a simple Facebook message.

One asked, “Does it sound like a healthy relationship? When will the divorce occur?”

Another wrote: “A good father would not do that in front of his children, even if it was justified.”

But others praised the woman for reaching a level of pettiness that most people can only imagine.

“That mother is a queen,” commented one person.

“You know kids don’t care, all they want is cake. Yet they live for that pettiness,” someone else wrote.

“I respect the mother, but I am also afraid of her,” said another.
