Kelston Girls’ College is one of the West Auckland schools currently closed.
An incident has closed three schools in West Auckland.
Kelston Boys High School Principal Adeline Blair confirmed Things the school had been closed around 2.30 pm as a “precaution”.
She did not want to comment on why.
A police spokesman said a welfare concern report had been made after 2 p.m. in the Kelston area.
“Police are in the area making inquiries to locate this person,” the spokesman said.
“Due to the proximity of this report, nearby schools have been closed as a precaution.”
These schools are Kelston Boys ‘High School, Kelston Girls’ High School, and St Leonards Road School.
Parents of school students were sent text messages warning them not to email, call, or go to school until the situation was resolved.
A post on the St Leonards School website warned that updates would be posted as often as possible.
“Please do not come to the school or call the school as you will not be attended to and this may cause a disruption in the handling of this incident and could put the safety of you and our staff and students at risk” .
It comes just one day after Lincoln Heights School in nearby Massey was closed due to a firearms incident.
