Of the more than 22,000 tests for Covid-19 that have been conducted since a woman living, working and studying in central Auckland (known as Case D) was confirmed to have the virus on Thursday, only one person tested positive.

That person is Case E, who lives in the same Auckland apartment as Case D and is considered a close contact.

Residents of the accommodation facilities used by the New Zealand Defense Force in Auckland, where a Defense Force worker has stayed (Case A), have undergone a second test for Covid-19, and all have negative result.

The investigation into how Case D was exposed to Case A is ongoing.

Of the cases at the border, one person arrived from the UK via Dubai on November 14.

The other two arrived from Dubai on November 14.
