Three men have been charged with attempted murder following an alleged shooting from a vehicle in Christchurch.
Joshua James Mackay, 25, Levi Cheyenne Dronsfield, 27, and Andrej Michael Schwaab, 27, appeared in Christchurch District Court via video link Monday.
The three men were charged with attempted murder, injured with the intent to cause serious bodily injury, and illegal possession of a sawed-off 22-caliber rifle. Dronsfield has also been accused of growing cannabis.
No allegations were made on any of the charges.

The charges were related to an incident near Hereford St around 2 p.m. Saturday. Police previously confirmed that officers were called to the scene with reports of a shooting.
The man injured in the shooting was initially reported to be in critical condition, but police later said his condition was stable. He remains in the hospital.
The three defendants were placed in preventive detention until October 9 for the case to be transferred to the Superior Court. They face a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder.
