Auckland’s Howick College students may have been able to access their NCEA exam results earlier than the rest of the country, after they were uploaded earlier.
An Auckland high school appears to have released student test results a day earlier than they should.
A Howick College student notified Stuff of the mishap, saying that its exterior The NCEA results were uploaded to the school’s online student portal Wednesday afternoon and available to view for “quite a few hours.”
The student confirmed that he had seen his results and said that most of his friends had too: “the website kept crashing as it usually does on results posting days … which generally means most of the school he was also trying to access his own. “
New Zealand Grading Authority Deputy Executive Director (Assessment) Kristine Kilkelly confirmed that schools can get their students’ NCEA results the afternoon before they are released.

These results are provided under embargo, until NZQA publishes all results the next morning.
Kilkelly warned NZQA to “understand that Howick College results are no longer available” as of Wednesday night.
Approximately 140,000 students will be able to access their interim NCEA results through the NZQA website on Thursday.

Classics teachers say they are bitterly disappointed but not surprised by an announcement to remove classics from NCEA level 1 and remove NCEA Latin altogether.
About 1.1 million personalized exam booklets and digital exam tickets have been marked to date, NZQA said Wednesday.
Howick College has been contacted for comment.
Stuff understands that several other schools across the country have also released student results ahead of time.
