Tonight’s victory makes it the fifth time Powerball has been hit alone in September, after two incredibly lucky players in Auckland and Christchurch took home a total of $ 24.5 million between them.

Two other winners will also be celebrating tonight, after winning $ 333,333 each with Lotto First Division.

The winning lottery tickets were sold on MyLotto to players in Marlborough and Christchurch.

Two lucky players each took home $ 500,000 in the Lotto First Division prize a week ago, splitting a prize of $ 1 million.

The two winning tickets that shared the $ 1 million prize were sold at Countdown Westgate in Auckland and Napier City Pak ‘n Save in Napier.

And a Christchurch man might as well be driving his dream car around town now, after planning to spend his massive $ 10.5 Lotto Powerball win in a Lamborghini.

The man, who did not want to be named, won the jackpot in early September.

He said he was overwhelmed with his “incredible” victory, but adamant about what was at the top of his shopping list.

“I’ve always wanted one [a Lamborghini] so why not now? “

Still reeling from the life-changing victory, he said he would celebrate with a “kitchen” at home with his family and a trip to somewhere on the South Island where he could relax and plan for his new future.
