When they decided to resign from their positions as high-ranking members of the royal family, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, made it known that they hoped to build a life with more privacy. The move is also believed to have been inspired in part by the birth of their one-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and the family now lives in Montecito, a small community an hour’s drive from Los Angeles.
Quite smartly, in keeping with this desire to give their son a more ‘normal’ life away from the cameras, this year the couple decided to issue a Christmas card with a clever twist: instead of using a photograph of themselves. (which is commonplace among royalty), they had a stylized family portrait by an artist. I mean, the faces of Meghan, Harry and Archie were somewhat obscured (however, it is still clear that the little one has grown so much since he was last seen publicly!).
But what about the inside of the card? According to The Mayhew (who received the card), a charity that benefits dogs, cats and communities, of which Meghan is a sponsor, the message was one that will warm even the coldest of hearts: she donated to various charities with you in mind. “began the Duchess.
He continued his message by saying, “From a local California organization helping families to lift themselves out of homelessness, to two of our sponsorships in the UK: one supporting animal and community welfare, and the another, a memorial fund for a dear friend who helps educate children and fight poverty in Uganda, we have honored his work on behalf of all of us. ” How cute is that? And how in keeping with the Christmas spirit, right?
Looking for even warmer and more diffuse sensations? “The original photo of the family was taken at their home earlier this month by The Duchess’ mother,” a Sussex spokesperson told Cosmopolitan UK. “The little Christmas tree, including the home decorations and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays.”
We hope that Meghan, Harry and little Archie are having a wonderful holiday break together, and that (pandemic permitting) the family will return to the UK for a visit next year.
