Police are investigating an incident in which Kelvin Road School in Papakura was closed and a teacher was injured.
The school was closed at around 1:15 pm after two people, known to a student, attempted to remove the student from the school grounds.
While trying to detain the couple, a staff member suffered minor injuries, a police spokesman said.
The school addressed the incident in a short Facebook post on Wednesday.

“We were locked up for a short period this afternoon. We are no longer locked up because everything is managed ”, he said.
“Rest assured that everyone is safe.”
The police were talking to several people in connection with the incident and were making inquiries.
Last month, Fraser High School was closed after a young man was taken to the hospital and another referred to Youth Aid following a serious attack.
The situation was also initially handled by staff, until the police arrived.
