In a statement, a representative said that his death was the result of cancer and that he had died at his home in Los Angeles, United States, with his wife and family. He had not spoken publicly about his cancer diagnosis, but in April fans expressed concern about how thin he was in a video posted to Instagram.
The sudden and unexpected news of his death was greeted with a torrent of grief from fans and colleagues.
Director and actor Taika Waititi joined many others in the film industry who said that Boseman was one of the greats.
US presidential candidate Joe Biden called Boseman a hero.
“The true power of Chadwick Boseman was greater than anything we saw on screen. Of Black Panther to Jackie Robinson, inspired generations and showed them that they can be anything they want, even superheroes, ”Biden said in a cheep.
In early August, Boseman posted to endorse Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris. It was the last message he made before his death. She posted to say he was a friend and was heartbroken.
