The alleged attack occurred at the Bunnings Warehouse in Botany.
A man accused of attacking a Bunnings Warehouse employee with a knife and then attempting to rob the store has chosen to face trial.
Facing charges of aggravated robbery and injury with intent to cause serious bodily harm, the 60-year-old pleaded not guilty in Manukau District Court on Friday.
Community Magistrate Leigh Langridge released the man on bail after he had been in custody since the alleged incident.

The man also received provisional name deletion.
The charges relate to an incident Oct. 16 at the Bunnings store in Botany, where the man allegedly entered the store and stabbed the victim.
The attacker was then detained by another member of staff, who kept him there until the police arrived.
The victim and the alleged stabber were taken to Middlemore Hospital after the incident in stable condition.
The man was placed in preventive detention and will reappear on February 19.
