Sonny Bill Williams in what may turn out to be his last NRL game for the Roosters.
Sonny Bill Williams remains undecided about what the future holds for him beyond Friday night after the Sydney Roosters were eliminated from the final by Canberra.
The 35-year-old dual international played five games for the Roosters on his return to the NRL and has a contract to return to the Toronto Wolfpack next season.
However, there is a possibility that it will fail if Wolfpack does not return to the Super League in 2021.
Williams said Channel nine after Friday night’s 22-18 semifinal loss to the Raiders, he kept all his options open.

“I’m not really sure, I have to keep some balls in play and talk to the wife,” he said.
“If something comes to fruition, it has to go through the boss.
“A difficult result tonight, but I am grateful to continue to do so here.”
After the game, coach Trent Robinson said even he wasn’t sure what the future holds for Williams, but he saw enough in five games to know he still has something to offer.
“I do not know [about Sonny]. I’m not saying with the Roosters, but obviously the curtain is closing, “he said.
“He has the contract with Toronto and I think he showed that there is a fighter there, and he had a huge impact on our game tonight.”
If it was his last rugby league game, Williams fell fighting with three volleys, a try-assist, tackle-break and line-break assist in 38 minutes of action at SCG.
It was this playoff play that provoked the Roosters in the second half against the Raiders, threatening a comeback they couldn’t finish.
“We’ve been getting him ready to play, and then we needed him,” Robinson said.
“We needed that style of play.
“We needed the confidence to play and play soccer, and we needed a guy who when there’s pressure, raises his hand.
“He’s done that his entire career in awkward situations, and he did it tonight.”
Williams is expected to leave the Roosters along with Ryan Hall, who will return to England, and retiring club legend Mitch Aubusson.
