Police arrested and charged six men of retirement age after an extensive investigation called ‘Operation Beverly’ for historic crimes at Auckland’s Dilworth School.

Police said the Auckland City Criminal Investigation Branch had been investigating since a complaint was made to them a year ago, and the investigation uncovered a number of other crimes and victims.
“The recent charges of historic sexual abuse allegations are both shocking and deeply saddened,” Dilworth Principal Dan Reddiex said today.
“I want to be absolutely clear, the Dilworth school that I know and lead today has zero tolerance for abuse of any kind.”
At this stage, the police have identified 17 alleged victims.

Police said the men are expected to appear in Auckland District Court on October 5-6.
