Two people were seriously injured in an accident in West Auckland this morning.
Emergency services were called to Triangle Rd, Massey, after an accident was reported just before 6 a.m.
St John confirmed that two people were seriously injured and taken to the Auckland City Hospital emergency department for treatment.
St John dispatched two ambulance vehicles and a manager to the scene, between Waimumu Rd and Lincoln Rd, a spokeswoman said.
It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the accident.
Motorists in the area are advised to use alternate routes as the highway is expected to be closed for “some time,” police said in a statement.
The Serious Accident Unit is due to conduct an examination of the scene this morning.
Police are also responding to a single vehicle accident on Henderson Valley Rd.
The incident was reported around 5:20 a.m. M.
Police said the car involved crashed into a power pole and the lines were down as a result.
“There are no reports of injuries. However, the highway will be closed while the lines are fixed.”
Motorists are told to avoid the area, if possible.
