Princess Eugenie has given birth to a boy.

Her Royal Highness safely gave birth to a son on February 9 at Portland Hospital, an official statement from Buckingham Palace said.

Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, was present. The baby weighs 3657 g (8 lb 1 oz) and the mother and child are doing well.

The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke of York, Sarah, the Duchess of York and Brooksbank’s parents have been informed and are delighted with the news, the statement read.

The newborn is the couple’s first child, the first grandson of the Duke and Duchess of York and the ninth great-grandson of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Princess Eugenie’s pregnancy was announced by Buckingham Palace in September.

At the time, the royal couple posted a photo on Instagram of a pair of baby slippers, saying they were “excited for early 2021.”
