A man killed in a quad bike accident was the second farm vehicle death in Hawke’s Bay in a week.
The man left on his quad bike at a farm in Omakere, Central Hawke’s Bay on Saturday morning and did not return, police said.
His body was found shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Death would be referred to the coroner.

Just a week earlier, a woman in her 20s was killed when the side-by-side four-wheel drive vehicle in which she was a passenger rolled through a rural property in Waipukurau, about 20 minutes from Omakere.
Federated Farmers Hawke’s Bay President Jim Galloway was unaware of the circumstances of the crashes and said there could be a number of causes, ranging from inexperience to holes in the ground.
There was such a long wait for reports from forensics, often suggesting improvements to stop more incidents, that the findings were often overlooked or out of date.
“As terrible as it is, we must learn from these problems,” Galloway said.
