Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sent their first Christmas card since they stepped down as royalty.
The card, which was released through Markle’s animal welfare sponsorship Mayhew, features a painting of the Duke and Duchess in the garden of their Montecito California home, sharing a quality family moment with their 19-month-old son Archie and the dogs of the Pula family. and Guy.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess confirmed that the joyous scene was based on a photograph taken by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

Inside the card, Meghan wrote: “This year, as a family, we have donated to various charities with you in mind.”

The illustrated card is a departure from the royal Christmas cards, which typically feature photographs of royalty.
Last year’s Sussex Christmas card was their first as a family of three and featured a black and white photo of Archie, then seven months old, crawling towards the camera with an actual coupe staring in the background.
It also had an eco-friendly angle, and the couple chose to send it electronically to save paper.
This year is the family’s first Christmas in their new Californian home, where Doria is expected to join them. Last year they spent the holiday season on Vancouver Island in Canada as they prepared their departure from the royal family.
