A boy tested positive for Covid-19 in Japan after flying from Hawke’s Bay
A child tested positive for Covid-19 in Japan after leaving Hawke’s Bay, in an alleged historic or possible false positive of the virus.
The boy tested negative for Covid-19 before leaving New Zealand.
While the situation is considered low risk and is under investigation in Japan, Hawke’s Bay health physician Dr. Nick Jones alerted a Napier child care center to the situation.
The Hawke’s Bay District Board of Health has informed parents of children attending the center that all family members, including the child, tested negative before leaving New Zealand.
