Wellington Police are asking members of the public to come forward after a Wellington kidnapping last month.

Officers are looking for witnesses who saw two vehicles driving erratically in the eastern suburbs on Tuesday, Aug. 25 between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

The vehicles involved are believed to be a dark-colored BMW hatchback that was closely followed by a dark-colored mid-to-large-size sedan or hatchback.

They traveled from Shelly Bay Rd to Miramar Ave, and then to Cobham Drive, Troy St, Rongotai Rd, Evans Bay Parade, KFC Kilbirnie, and finally Onepu Rd.

The victim, who was detained in one of the vehicles, managed to escape at the time, Detective Sgt. Stephen Wescott said.

While the victim was not injured and the incident is believed to have been isolated, police would like to hear from anyone who could help her.

“This happened on a Tuesday night and we believe that the erratic driving involved would have caught the attention of people in the area,” Wescott said.

“We would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing these two vehicles or has a dash cam or CCTV footage that may have captured them.

“Anyone with information should call the police on 105 and quote the file number 200825/5640. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously through 0800 555 111.”
