Police are seeking information on a vehicle that could be related to a serious assault that hospitalized a man in Temuka on Thursday morning.

Detective Sergeant Richard Quested said the vehicle is a gold-colored Ford Falcon sedan, possibly an XR6 model, with a rear wing and red pinstripe on each side of the car.

Quested said police want to hear from anyone who has seen this vehicle on Earl Rd, between Goodwin Rd and Waitohi Temuka Rd, anytime from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday.

Police are also interested in sightings of this car in the Pleasant Point area on Wednesday night around 7.45pm.

The man injured in the assault had been released from the hospital, he said.

“Police investigations into this incident are ongoing and we are still trying to reconstruct the circumstances,” Quested said.

Anyone with information should contact the police at 105 and cite file number 201022/6253.

Alternatively, individuals can provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
