Police launch homicide investigation after body found in Auckland

The death of a woman whose body was found in Sunnyhills, Pakuranga, yesterday afternoon is now being treated as a homicide.

Police located a body on Saturday in search of Elizabeth or Ying Zhong, however, it has not yet been formally identified.

The body was found in the eastern suburb of Sunnyhills.

Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers said that while formal identification had not yet been completed, police believed the body was Elizabeth’s.

The 55-year-old businesswoman was reported missing in Manukau East counties yesterday.

Vickers said a post-mortem examination had been performed and an examination of the scene was underway.

Investigations have continued in the area where the body was found.

The police have also been talking to Zhong’s friends, family and associates.

Missing woman known in digital entertainment circles

Two companies linked to Zhong are in suspension of payments or in liquidation.

The company register shows Zhong as a director of Carrick Wines, which is in default, and Digifilm Limited, which is in liquidation.

She is also listed as a director of Digipost Entertainment Limited, which has a note in the registry stating that the company must file an annual return.

“This company is now behind in its obligation to file an annual return. If the annual return is not filed immediately, the Registrar will initiate an action to remove the company from the registry,” he said.

A second company, Zoomsun Shenyang Limited, which Zhong is listed as a director, has the same grade.

Zhong is also listed as a director of Digisound Limited and Digital Post Limited in the Company Register.
