Two men used a metal bar to rob a dairy in Invercargill on Saturday night.
A spokesperson for the police media said the men approached Pomona Street Discount Dairy at 8.45pm
One of them threatened the store worker with a metal bar at the store worker, who escaped and called police, the spokesman said.
The criminals took cash and cigarettes before setting off on a scooter traveling west on Tramway Rd.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the men riding a motorized scooter in the area at the time.
They are particularly interested in speaking with a woman who walked into the store and made a purchase shortly after the incident but before police arrived, the spokesperson said.
