Police investigate after Mongrel Mob associate was seriously injured in stabbing incident in Rangiora

An associate of the Mongrel Mob was seriously injured after a stabbing in Rangiora on Monday night.

The incident took place on White Street. The police were called at the address around 8.30pm.

A police spokeswoman says officers responded to the incident after a report of disorder.

“An examination of the scene is underway on the property and the police are speaking with several people, working to establish the circumstances of what happened.”

Stuff reported that the man who was stabbed is an associate of the Mongrel Mob.

A neighbor told Christchurch Newstalk ZB host Chris Lynch that they heard loud noises moments before police arrived on the scene.

The spokeswoman said police would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the incident or those involved.
