Police are investigating a serious accident on Gordonton Rd where a pedestrian has been struck by a car and seriously injured.
A pedestrian is seriously injured after being hit by a car in Waikato.
Emergency services are attending a serious accident on Graham Road, Gordonton.
The accident, which involved a car and a pedestrian, occurred around 11:05 a.m.
The pedestrian is reportedly seriously injured.
A spokeswoman for the police media confirmed that police had been responding to reports of a serious assault near the scene before the accident occurred.
No vehicle was understood to have been involved in that assault, he said.

The accident occurred at 11:05 am on Graham Rd, near Gordonton Rd (pictured). Police quickly installed traffic detours near the scene.
Police were unable to confirm any details about the victim, what type of injuries he had sustained, what type of car was involved, whether the driver of the car knew the victim or whether charges were likely to be filed.
The Serious Accident Unit attended the scene and traffic controls were established. Police media advisers could not confirm whether that was still the case shortly after 2 p.m.
