Detective Inspector Graham Pitkethley said the operation yielded significant results and is expected to affect the accessibility of methamphetamine in the district.
Reducing the amount of methamphetamine available throughout Waikato will have a positive effect on the most vulnerable members of our community, Pitkethley said.
Operation Typhoon highlighted the important working relationship between members of a variety of different gangs and chapters.
This included members and associates of the Waikato Mongrel Mob and Mongrel Mob Rogue chapters working together on three of the methamphetamine labs.
As a result, they face a series of serious charges including participation in an organized criminal group, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of chemical precursors to make methamphetamine, supply of methamphetamine and illegal possession of firearms.
The defendants have made initial appearances in Hamilton District Court.
