‘One lonely hanger is all that’s left’: Trelise Cooper stole

Fashion designer Dame Trelise Cooper was mugged and 1,800 samples were stolen from her Auckland showroom over the weekend.

“A lone perch is all that remains,” Cooper said on Facebook Tuesday.

“Over the weekend our styling room was robbed and all of our Spring ’21 and Summer ’21 sample collections for Trelise Cooper, Cooper, Coop and Curate were stolen from us, along with several of our one-of-a-kind haute couture pieces.”

A total of 1,800 samples were taken, it said in the post.

“All of our hard work during the Covid and 2020 shutdowns, it’s gone!

“Keep an eye out for Trelise Cooper, Cooper, Coop and Curate garments on the market.”

The stolen items were size 8, or small samples, and many were not yet available in the store. They were distinctive because they had no sewn-in care labels.

No one was injured, he said.

“The finance team mentioned a million [dollars]I don’t think it’s exactly that, but it’s up there, “Cooper said. Newshub.

The thieves had targeted a small opening that was blocked by boxes.

“It’s such a strange entry point, and one that we didn’t even realize was there, that I think someone must have spied on it at some point,” he said.
