A suspicious fire has extensively damaged an old empty school building in Greymouth, on the west coast.
Fire crews were called to the fire on Tainui St (State Highway 6) around 12:40 p.m. Thursday, New Zealand Fire and Emergency spokesman Andrew Norris said.
An unoccupied building on the former Karoro Learning site was “well involved” in the fire when four fire crews arrived, he said.
The building appeared to be an old classroom.
