More than $ 100,000 in cash was found on a Northland property.
A man was arrested after a police raid uncovered drugs, cash, a firearm and a stolen caravan.
Northland police executed a search warrant at a property in Kawakawa on Monday in connection with an alleged drug crime, where they found more than $ 100,000 in cash.
On the property, police found methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $ 90,000 and a stolen caravan from Tauranga, with a value of $ 40,000.
Police also found 50 kg of iodine pellets, which are used in the production of methamphetamine, with a street value of around $ 125,000.
Detective Inspector Bridget Doell of the Northland Criminal Investigation Branch said a 47-year-old man had been arrested.
He was facing a series of drug, weapons and other serious charges and would appear in Kaikohe District Court on December 14.
Doell said more arrests were expected to be made.
“Police are committed to targeting drug offenders who prey on and profit from those who are vulnerable in our community,” said Doell.
”The police and the public do not tolerate these criminals in our society.
“Northland Police continue to work with our partners, through initiatives like Te Ara Oranga, identifying and supporting those who use drugs such as methamphetamine, so they can get the help they need.
“We also want our community to help us by alerting us to any suspicious activity involving the distribution of drugs.”
