Police were informed of the fire and the damaged vehicle shortly after 9:30 am, although it is unclear if they will make inquiries.

Crews were dispatched to extinguish four small vegetation fires scattered across Port Hills between midnight and 1 a.m. Wednesday.

A flare was reportedly spotted at the time, and the police urged anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward.
