A newly married couple died in a plane crash just four days after their wedding.

The couple were identified by authorities Wednesday after their Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashed outside of Telluride in Colorado on Tuesday.

The victims, United Airlines Costas pilot and flight instructor John Sivyllis, 30, and his wife Lindsey Vogelaar, 33, were married four days before the fatal crash.

From Port Orange in Florida, they had eloped to Telluride for a small mountaintop wedding, and were on their “adventure-filled honeymoon,” which they had been documenting online, the San Miguel sheriff said.

A friend wrote in a Facebook tribute: “It’s hard to understand a tragedy befalling such a perfect couple.”

The couple had worked in the airline industry.

The sheriff said the couple left the Telluride airport around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday and is believed to have crashed 10-15 minutes later.

“The newlyweds were heading back to Florida with a possible stop in Oklahoma to refuel. They were the only two on the plane,” the sheriff said.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

The day before, authorities recovered the bodies of the couple from the scene of the accident.
